There’s no question about it, comfort food season has arrived and I don’t think there’s a dish that better captures that spirit of warm, belly-filing happiness than old-fashioned chicken & dumplings.
Tender chicken and vegetables in rich, creamy velouté gravy topped with light, fluffy dumplings. I like to add a bit of sour cream and a touch of horseradish to give the dish a bit of tang and complexity. It’s served with a simple crunchy cabbage salad.
