Chef Murat Ozsuvari & Tolga Ay have hosted a number of incredible Supper Clubs at The Depanneur. These dinners all sold out so quickly, with such long waiting lists, that it became obvious that many more people were very eager to try their fantastic Turkish food, so we’re delighted to invite them back as our Feature Pop-Up Showcase every Thursday in October.
Meze (starters) $6
Hummus with pastirma (a Turkish spiced, cured beef), pine nuts and pita bread

Sigara Boregi (Turkish “spring rolls”); thin phyllo pastry stuffed with feta cheese and fried to a golden crisp. Comes with tomato dipping sauce
Mains $12
Balkan köftesi A very special Balkan-style köfte (ground meat patty) stuffed with cheese and slivers of air-dried beef (similar to bresoala), and topped with kaymak, and incredibly rich & buttery sour cream. Comes on a bed of begendi, a creamy bechamel with smokey egpplant.

Green Beans with Tarator Sauce and Bulgur Salad. Green beans cooked in olive oil with onions and tomatoes, with a garlic-yogurt dressing and accompanied by a bulgur salad with raisins, fresh mint, walnut and pomegranate molasses. #vegetarian

Güllaç: a unique rice pastry soaked in sweetened milk and layered with walnuts; considered to be the ancestor of baklava

Chef Murat Ozsuvari studied cooking in Vancouver and has worked in restaurants around the world, including the Ritz Hotel in Miami, and the renowned Ara Café in Istanbul. Together with Tolga Ay, he has recently co-founded a new catering company Toronto, M&T, offering a broad range of Turkish-inspired and international foods for home delivery or events.
