Ana & Germán have recently arrived in Toronto and brought their love of traditional Spanish cooking with them, in the form of Ajoblanco, their new culinary project. For this menu menu they will be doing a selection of tapas – small plates featuring a number of classic Spanish dishes.
Ajoblanco – Their namesake dish, Ajoblanco is a cold soup made with ground almonds and garlic, served with grapes (just like Germán’s mamma does when someone special is coming to dinner!)
Ensaladilla Rusa – A cool salad of potatoes, peas, eggs and carrots with anchovies, tuna and shrimps, with a homemade olive oil mayonnaise dressing.
Tapenade – olive spread to eat with bread. A typical dish of Provence. Intense and wonderful, just like the Mediterranean.
Tortilla de patatas –The quintessential ‘tapa’, Germán likes to have it with his special homemade mayonnaise, yummy!
Tapas are $4 ea.
(vegetarian and gluten-free options available)
Ajoblanco is a new culinary project that we are starting in the city of Toronto. We are devoted believers of ‘cooking with love’, a traditional way of cooking that means taking the time to go to a market and select the food, to take a cup of wine, put some music on and have a nice conversation while cooking. We are life amateurs! And our favorite room for experiencing life is the kitchen.
