What make artisanal Marmalade so exquisite is the complex, aromatic flavour of different kinds of citrus. In this fun, hands-on workshop, you will learn the difference between a jam, jelly and a marmalade, and the techniques for making your own fantastic citrus preserves.
Join Christine Manning, owner of Manning Canning and award-winning marmalade maker as she walks you through all of the steps to making a wonderful tasting marmalade. You’ll work with a combination orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit, as well as Seville or Blood oranges if they happen to be available in the market. What makes a great marmalade, how to properly prepare the peel and the difference between premium and standard marmalades will all be covered.
You will walk out of this class with the basic understanding of jar sterilization, safe canning practices and important do’s and don’ts of canning and preserving. You will also get a copy of the recipe to take home and 1 jar of marmalade for your pantry.
