Looking for a unique venue to host food events?
On days and evenings when we don’t have our own regularly scheduled activities, The Dep is available as a venue for dinner parties, fundraisers, workshops, team-building events, video shoots, and more. It’s a unique space that includes use of our equiped kitchen as well as all the tables & chairs, linens, tableware and staff to help with setup, service and teardown.
The space is typically available weekdays before 3pm (except Thursdays), and most Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Other times might be available if booked far enough in advance. The cost is $25 per person (+HST) on weekends or $20 per person on weekdays, with a 12 person minimum and 24 person maximum. This is for the venue rental only.

For food, you have lots of choices:
- you can cook it yourself or with friends at The Dep,
- host a potluck,
- use any caterer you like,
- or we would be happy to connect you to any the talented cooks who have hosted events at the Dep in the past
You make catering arrangements directly with your cook – we do not take a cut or add a markup. I would suggest budgeting between $30-$50 per person for a dinner party or instructor-led workshop, but costs vary a lot depending on the chef, the complexity of the menu, ingredients, etc.
Let us know the date you’re interested in, and if it’s available, we’ll hold it for you. A $200 deposit is required, which will be applied towards your final bill, but is non-refundable if the event is cancelled less with than 6 weeks notice.
Private events serving alcohol require a Special Occasion Permit from the LCBO ($25).
Please Note: we’re not a bar or a club – our space is designed for dinner parties, and our events wrap up by around 11pm. We share the building with long-time residents, so our venue is not suited for loud music, bands or DJs.
