Private Events
Looking for a unique venue to host food events?
On days and evenings when we don’t have our own regularly scheduled activities, The Dep is available as a venue for dinner parties, fundraisers, workshops, team-building events, video shoots, and more. It’s a unique space that includes a fabulous roster of culinary talent, use of our equipped kitchen as well as all the tables & chairs, tableware and staff to help with setup, service and teardown.
For food, you have a couple choices: you can cook yourself or with friends, host a potluck, use any caterer you like, or we would be happy to connect you to any of the many talented chefs that have cooked at the Dep in the past.
We specialize in crafting thoughtful, bespoke turnkey culinary events designed to enhance connection and align with the purpose of your gathering, from luncheons and dinners to classes and workshops, and engaging, interactive team-building activities.
The Dep is available to book for private events; private events are priced per person, based on a 12 person minimum and 32 person maximum. Let us know the date you're interested in, and if it's free, we'll reserve it for you upon receipt of a $200 deposit.

Turnkey Events
We look after everything - just show up and enjoy! The Dep hosts a huge range of unique culinary experiences: browse through some of the hundreds of Cooking Classes, Supper Clubs, and DIY Dinners we’ve hosted in the past for inspiration.
- Supper Clubs are a multi-course family-style dinner party for dining only. (Recommended max. 32p)
- Cooking Classes are primarily interactive, hands-on instruction, with participants eating or taking home what’s made in class. (Recommended max. 16p)
- DIY Dinners are a hybrid Cooking Class+Supper Club with an interactive cooking component plus a full dinner. These make a great team-building activity! (Recommended max. 24p)
- Master Classes combine expert, chef-led culinary demonstrations with a meal. (Recommended max. 24p)
Minimum charge for a turnkey event is $1200 (+HST) up to 12 guests , and then additional guests are $99pp (+HST).
Events with customized menus, additional courses, premium ingredients, complex/special dietary restrictions, live music, bar service or certain VIP chefs may incur additional charges which would be negotiated at the time of booking.

Venue-Only / Self-Catering
You can also rent The Dep as a venue only; it includes full use of our equipped kitchen, along with all our tables, chairs, tableware, etc. as well as basic clean up. For food, you have lots of choices: you can cook it yourself or together with friends, host a potluck, or use any chef or caterer of your choice. For venue-only rentals the minimum rental is $600.
(ie. $50pp up to 12 guests). Additional guests are $39pp up to 32p max.

To Book The Dep
Let us know the date you’re interested in, and if it’s available, we can reserve it for you upon receipt of a $200 deposit, which will be applied towards your final bill. This deposit is non-refundable if the event is cancelled with less than 6 weeks notice.
Private events serving alcohol technically require a Special Occasion Permit from the LCBO ($45). You can then bring whatever you wish to drink, and there is no additional charge; typically you will save a LOT compared to going to a regular restaurant.
Please Note: we’re not a bar or a nightclub – our space is designed for dinner parties, and our events usually wrap up by around 11pm.
