What better way to celebrate the end of summer and the country we call home?

Spend a morning in the woods with an expert guide to educate you on the seasonal species of fungi available in our beautiful province. Danijela Pulcini from Puck’s Plenty, has been foraging wild mushrooms and plants her whole life, first in her native Serbia and for many years right here in Ontario. She will show us how to safely identify wild species and will discuss medicinal and culinary uses of what we find.

In September will be searching for Russulas, Hedgehogs, Boletes and Gem Studded Puffballs. Other fungi such as the Giant Puffball, Summer Oysters and Angel Wings might also be waiting to be discovered. It's always an adventure — you never know what you'll find!

As an added bonus, all participants will get to take home a sample of assorted cultivated mushrooms from Fresh and Tasty Mushrooms, along with some Hen of the Woods (aka Maitake, an especially delicious and medicinal mushroom) from Shogun Maitake for their cooking pleasure.

We will meet at 10am at a location within 90 minutes of Toronto.

Note: For this seasonal excursion we hope to explore a new bioregion in the Cambridge/Kitchener area. TBC

We will do our best to try and help coordinate ride sharing among the participants if possible. (No guarantees).
