What better way to celebrate Springtime and the country we call home?

Join us for a fun foraging excursion in the Ontario countryside with an expert guide to educate us on the seasonal species of wild plants and fungi available in our own backyard. We’ll respectfully take what the land offers us, and an added bonus all participants will get to take home a sample of assorted cultivated mushrooms from Fresh and Tasty Mushrooms.

May is the month for Morels and Fiddleheads, but there may be other delicious and nutritious wild edibles on the menu, such as Pheasant Back, Beech Rooter or Platterful mushrooms, Ramps (wild leeks), Marsh Marigolds, Nettles, Sochan (cutleaf coneflower), Trout Lilies, or Wild Ginger. It's always an adventure — you never know what we'll find.

Our expert guide, Danijela Pulcini from Puck’s Plenty has been foraging wild mushrooms and plants her whole life, first in her native Serbia and for many years here in Ontario. She will show us how to safely identify wild species and will discuss medicinal and culinary uses of what we find.

We will meet at location within 90 minutes of Toronto; The Dep will have a vehicle with a few extra spots, so let us know if you need a ride, or if you'd be willing to offer one to other participants.
