This special edition of Tastes of Toronto features Emily Zimmerman, a chef, community worker, food justice activist, and passionate storyteller. Drawing on her family’s deep roots in Toronto’s Jewish community, Emily will explore the history of the Victory Theatre and its fascinating connections to Yiddish culture, labour activism, burlesque performance, and Toronto’s underground arts scene. Guests will enjoy knish bites and a spiced cherry sorrel “Red Pop” inspired by Shopsy’s while discovering the stories, traditions, and communities that helped shape the city.
